Solo exposition at the Centre Culturel of Durbuy from 28/11 until 8/12 - 2025
My work arises completely intuitively, without preconceived plans or fixed ideas. I was born in Amsterdam and have lived in Amersfoort, Hilversum, and Tilburg. And 27 years ago, I settled in the beautiful Durbuy in the Belgian Ardennes. While painting, I feel relaxed and free—I find it very joyful. Each painting reflects that spontaneity and joy, fueled by impulses, emotions, and experiments with various materials. For me, art is about freedom and the unexpected, where each piece finds itself along the way.

Another flower from our garden. (The flower is all over the island) Daucus carota, the flowers have a beautiful lace-like structure, hence the name Queen Anne's Lace. Note the little deep purple or red sterile flower in the middle, it looks like an insect that’s visiting the flower, which seems to attract other insects to visit it.

April 2025. Several Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, including Mykonos, Chios and Paros, were hit by severe weather. Heavy rainfall caused landslides and flooding, damaging the road network.

This work is about bending without breaking, about standing still in a world that keeps moving. I found comfort in painting. Perhaps the viewer also feels something — even if it's just a moment of silence.

A play of lines, color, and movement. In this work, structures and shapes collide, yet nothing shatters — it breaks gently, as if what was lost can still be felt. The painting searches for a balance between fracture and connection, between past and future. An open image for those who look with heart and memory.

Full of bright, contrasting colours, which I like very much. The colours and the lines seem to me to dance to the music. I can almost hear the music.

Each section has its own unique expression, from cheerful to dreamy, with playful shapes and bright colors coming together to create a lively whole. The bold lines tie the piece together, while the variety of gazes and patterns keep your attention engaged.

The world of music and dance with a playful, dreamy atmosphere. A large, wavy musical key dominates the image, with musical notes floating through the air. In the lower section, three graceful ballerinas are depicted, each in vibrant dresses (purple, blue, and orange), as if carried away by the rhythm and melody around them. The pastel tones in the background enhance the sense of lightness and movement, while the black lines of the notes and dancers provide contrast.

These two colorful, vertical paintings are full of energy and movement. The bright blocks of different shapes are connected by bold, swirling black lines that guide your eyes across the canvas. The one on the left features a fresh mix of blues, greens, and browns, while the right one has a more playful vibe with warm colors like pink, orange, and yellow. Both pieces have an abstract, dynamic feel that would brighten up any space.
